• South Ripley is also known as Quincy.

• Famous Residents: Dr. Benjamin Franklin Goodrich, B.F. Goodrich Co founder & civil war surgeon, born to Anson & Susan Goodrich in Ripley, NY.  He, as well as another county native Lucille Ball, is buried at Lake View Cemetery in Jamestown, NY.

• Did You Know: At one time NY State didn't require a waiting period before marrying.  Ripley was the "Marriage Capital of the World," due to its closeness to states with a required wait.  The town justice was on call 24/7 to perform ceremonies!
